Swizl Jager specialises in reo-rua (2 language/bilingual) raps with a modern flow and cheeky humour that has been known to turn audiences into a mess of laughs or gasps.  His gully raps leave reo speakers and non-reo speakers alike dumbfounded and wanting more from this unapologetic native Māori.

With his metal background, he has that extra edge and unusual followers, aka his whaYES (not Whānau/ far-no). They will agree that it sets his live shows apart from most other rappers as seen on the tour with Rei, The Matariki Tour and with pacific metal band Shepherds Reign.

His passion for music doesn’t stop at his own, you can catch him almost every weekend supporting artists and going to shows, he also has played many sets all over Aotearoa and Australia and locally as a support act for any genre.

Swizls songs have been featured in many TV shows and films such as Ahikaroa, Waiata anthems, Moko Ink and Brokenwood mysteries to name a few. Swizl has also been a film-maker for nearly 20 years and is a strong advocate for story sovereignty.

Being Māori is at the forefront of his everyday life and that crosses over to his work in both film/tv and music with new tunes dropping as part of Waiata Anthems.
