HŪHĀ Music is an emerging discovery platform for our Māori language musicians. 

​

HŪHĀ Music is an information portal for Musicians and Producers to assist them with their global touring strategies, writing workshops and culture exchange.

 

From festivals, to indigenous/first nation community connections,

we have a manaaki (support) system for artists wanting to travel with their music.

​

HŪHĀ taps into existing music currents and helps musicians from Aotearoa (aka New Zealand) navigate these opportunities with our global networks.

HŪHĀ envisions a future where confident te reo Māori musicians know they can travel with their Māori music and be supported in a long-term career strategy.

HŪHĀ Music is committed to creating a stronger bilingual Aotearoa Music community, connected to the world and its creative opportunities.

With 20 years of experience in music strategy, artist development, and promotion, Huia Hamon and the team are on a mission to provide musicians with access to global stages, world audiences, and international touring circuits.

HŪHĀ's is engaging yearly at WOMEX, where Huia Hamon (Kaiwahakahaere) and the Pan-Indigenous, Matariki Cultural Trust, Aotearoa and the Pacific have a conscious presence. We are creating digital showcases of our te reo Māori Musicians and advocating for more involvement and investment in their development for these global communities.

Development Stages:

HŪHĀ Music is currently in the development stages, to become an accessible discovery portal, opportunity and strategist platform for bilingual te reo Māori indigenous musicians.

HŪHĀ is seeded with support from the Pan-Indigenous (WOMEX) Network, Te Māngai Pāho, APRA (NZ) Outward Sound (NZMIC), Kog Studio and Kog/Chief Records.

HŪHĀ Music is an exciting new initiative that is empowering Māori musicians to reach their full potential on the global stage. With its commitment to bilingualism, HŪHĀ is helping to build a stronger and more diverse Aotearoa Music community.
